In part one of a series about being homosexual and Catholic, we hear from the founder and leader of the Connecticut chapter of the support group Courage. It’s not one of those groups that tries to “convert” homosexuals to heterosexuality, but it does hew to the official Church line that faithful gays and lesbians should be celibate. In our interview, Deacon Robert Pallotti talks about everyone doing the best they can within the current Church teaching, and concedes that many gays, lesbians and bisexuals do turn away from the Church.
Our July 16 show will feature responses from those the Church policy affects. If you’d like to contribute a comment, contact me at mjohnson@wesufm.org or post a comment on the website. I look forward to hearing from you!
